This week the Reception class had a visit from a hearing scientist from the University of Cambridge who taught them how sound and hearing works.

In the session they learned how sound moves through the air in waves; how it is able to travel through and even move objects in the classroom and what needs to happen to hair cells in order for us to hear. The activities involved making waves with a spring; using sound to bounce rice on a plate and looking inside and exploring a model brain.
